A skin blemish is an area of discolouration (see Pigmentation disturbances) on the face which usually follows a severe case of acne.
Other causes of skin blemishes include certain chemicals found in facial products, hormonal changes like menopause or PMS, stress and clogging of the pores from excess secretion of oil by the skin's oil glands. Skin damage from burns, chemicals and sun exposure may also cause skin blemishes. If your condition has not resolved in 4 weeks, please consult you healthcare practitioner. |
