The prostate is a gland found only in men. They main purpose of the prostate is to produce seminal fluid. It is shaped like a cashew nut and wraps around the urethra (tube through with urine from the bladder and seminal fluid leaves the body).

As men age, their hormones, health and body tissues undergo natural changes. Ageing often puts strain on your prostate and this may cause one of several disorders of the prostate. Prostatitis refers to an inflammation of the prostate, commonly due to infection. Benign prostate hypertrophy refers to the enlargement of a prostate for no apparent reason other than it has probably been working very hard for a long time and has weakened. It needs to grow in order to compensate for the weakness.

Symptoms of a prostate disorder are difficulty beginning urination and dribbling of urine during and after urination. The recommended treatments are intended to support the function of the prostate and should be used in conjunction with, and not in place of, any medications prescribed by your healthcare practitioner.
