Dermatitis refers to the inflammation of the skin most commonly as a result of an allergic reaction.

Symptoms of dermatitis include itching, redness, flaking and increased sensitivity over the affected area. Causes of dermatitis include reactions to creams or skin products, soaps, clothing, certain materials or fabric softeners, metals for example jewellery, and even certain foods may cause or aggravate dermatitis.

Herbal Helpers

Chamomile complex cream has had excellant results at our herbal dispensary - it aids the reduction of the inflammatory process, nourishes the skin and helps to modify the immune response.

Vitamin C and bioflavonoids would also be recommended. Vitamin Cis a natural anti-histamine and the bioflavonoids help to strengthen tissue.

Zinc is used for helping the tissue to heal. Those with eczema and dermatitis are commonly found to be deficient.
